Are DJs Real Musicians?
Tuesday, August 2, 2022
It's a question that's been asked since the rise of the DJ: are they real musicians? On one hand, DJs are often thought of as nothing more than party starters, responsible for getting the crowd moving with their mix of music. On the other hand, however, some DJs are highly respected for their musical ability, creativity, and knowledge. So, what's the answer?
To answer this question, we first need to define what a musician is. A musician is someone who creates or performs music. This can be done through playing an instrument, singing, songwriting, or producing. With this definition in mind, it's easy to see that DJs are indeed musicians. They create music by selecting and mixing together tracks, and they perform this music live for an audience. In many cases, they also add their own creative flair to the mix, making it their own unique performance.
However, there are some people who would argue that DJs are not real musicians because they don't play an instrument or sing. This is a valid argument, but it doesn't mean that DJs aren't real musicians. There are plenty of musicians who don't play an instrument or sing, such as producers and songwriters. Like DJs, they create and perform music, but they do so in a different way. The same can be said for DJs. They may not play an instrument or sing, but they create and perform music in their own unique way.
At the end of the day, whether or not you believe DJs are real musicians is up to you. But there's no denying that they are indeed creative artists who deserve recognition for their musical talent and ability.
